Biography
Oluwademilade “Demi” Oyeyinka is a South London born and raised artist and designer. Trained at the Architectural Association, with a background spanning architecture, exhibitions, installations and interiors, he brings that spatial sensibility to his sculptural practice, recontextualising and celebrating overlooked typologies as carriers of memory and belonging.
His practice seeks to redefine the role of the architect: no longer an arbiter of culture, but a curator and narrator of subcultures, fabricating spaces and objects in delicate response. The work interrogates the mass-produced fragments of urban life, objects engineered to go unnoticed, recasting them through traditional craft as vessels for untold stories: an elevation of the mundane that brings value to the undervalued and lends the rituals of the everyday a quiet spirituality.
